Petit Verdot is, among the international varieties grown in Pianetto, the one that most enhances its continental vocation. The ripe grapes, harvested only in late October, are rich in polyphenols and acidity, two natural preservatives that, over time, enhance the complexity of the wine. Harvested exclusively by hand, the grapes undergo spontaneous maceration with no added sulphites or cultured yeasts. This is a wine endowed with great polyphenolic richness and an inky ruby red colour, with a complex bouquet characterised by tertiary aromas of red fruit preserves created by the wine’s bottle ageing.
